Abstract: WiMAX (stands for Worldwide Interoperation for Microwave Access) is a broadband communication technology, which is being studied and improved. Upgraded from Wi-Fi, WiMAX inherits advantages and overcomes most drawbacks of prior technologies such as higher data transferring speed and wider coverage. New technology with many strong points has attracted a large number of users. That leads to conflicts when having simultaneously data transferring process at the same time because the frequency and time resources are limited. In order to solve this conflict, scheduling for resources allocation algorithms have been suggested; for example, UGS, rtPS, Round Robin, CQI… In the thesis, the main object is Heuristic method in downlink traffic, a way to schedule and allocate resources for WiMAX to meet the users’ demands and qualities of service and to maximize the throughput.
